Does Anyone Wish the Back Button Was on the Left Side Instead?

Why load up an app that takes up space? It would take less time to become accustomed to the change.

That's the joy of Android versus Apple.. We have choices.

Second quote above is from a different thread, but I found it as relevant as relevant can be ...

This forum cracks me up ... in one thread, you've got people suggesting other apps to replace stock apps because you want to change something as simple as the color of the header of the stock app, but cant ...

and then you have other threads where people are "condemning" installing a third party app, when you should simply "get used to how it is" ...

nothing personal to anyone here ... just cracking myself up late on a saturday night.

I'd prefer it on the left, if only to keep consistent with other android phones and Google's design guides.

I'd also prefer the buttons on-screen, but that couldn't happen with the fingerprint scanner. Feel I can navigate around the UI faster with on-screen buttons and when I'm watching something, I dont have to worry about accidentally pressing the capacitive buttons to back out of the video or anything.

It's not a major thing, but more a 'would have been nice to have'.

Once you get used to the layout of the S6 though, it pretty much becomes a non issue.

Any forum will have this -- just FYI :). The main reason is because everyone has different feelings about certain things. Some may not need unlimited (carrier wise) and think 2 GB is a lot .. I use 100-150 GB a month .. need unlimited. Some may customize their phone all the way down to the ROM all the time .. others may just want to change a few icons...some (like me) just change background .. setup the same screen as I always do and enjoy my phone... it just varies from person to person so you will see this anywhere not just here.

I just like the fact that versus an Apple forum .. you see this drastic difference... whereas with them you see "Look at my different background and my folders are different" and that is about it :D.

I think having the back button on the bottom left instead of the right side is much better for one handed use.
I cannot reach the bottom right side with say my thumb. My Moto X and Nexus 7 both have the back button on the left side.

I think Samsung made a mistake here.

Your thoughts?

No, its fine where its at.

You do know button placement can fall under patent infringement Right.
That is why the power button on the samsung is not on the top.
The power Button on top is Apples patent.

I'm probably dead wrong about this ... but here goes anyway.

You may be totally right that Apple patented the lock button on top of the phone ... but these days, with the phones being larger, having the lock button on the side of the phone is a better design, and even Apple has moved the lock button to the side of both the 6 and 6+.

If the patent on the top was an Apple thing, it's a shame that someone non-Apple didn't patent the side lock button location, forcing Apple to keep using the top of the phone for the location of the lock button --- which of course would be most inconvenient due to the size of the current phones. :D

Patents for button placement should never have been given out.
There's only so many places you can put a power button on a phone.

If ull ask me .. I want it too but I hope they put on screen nav key like one plus one ..

As long as we are talking power buttons, the button needs to be a little higher to be aligned with the top volume rocker. Glad it's not on the top or on the screen. Thank goodness for dedicated buttons.

I like the back button right where it is.
I've had 3 Samsung phones and the left button brings up with where you have been.
I really use the heck out of the back button too.

Yes. I changed it to the left side like on my Nexus 7 2013 via an app called All in one Gestures.
