Does Flash Actually Work?

I just purchased a Wi-Fi only Xoom today. When I go to ESPN, none of the videos play in the browser, they just look like a picture instead of like on my laptop, where it has the blue arrow in the middle of the picture letting me play the video. When I go to kcroyals.com, there is supposed to be a video playing in the upper right hand corner, but instead I just get a graphic and no video. Am I doing something wrong or need to enable something?

Yeah I have that problem also with espn. Other sites seem to be okay. Not sure what is going on with espn or if it's user error on my part somewhere...

I'm on the site right now. Same thing. Interestingly, the video to the right plays just fine.

Reluctantly, I even went to the Royal's website. But only for as long as it took for me to confirm what you see. Then I left the site and apologized to my XOOM for going there.

When Flash was released, they said if was a partial release, or partially working, or some such thing. This is probably the evidence of that.

Full Flash is one of the things that did not get released at the same time as the XOOM and Honeycomb. They're working on it.

Yup still waiting on the full flash so that could be why not 100% is working. Hopefully its out soon.

maybe if google gave us a real browser and not some over sized smart phone browser it would all work. still waiting.

I switched to Dolphin Browser HD recently, and it's actually pretty awesome. You can set the UAstring to Desktop by default to stop getting the mobile versions of sites, it seems to be faster and more stable than the stock browser, its gestures feature works pretty damn well, and it's got a couple of extensions. Plus, it's free.

I think it works okay, I wouldn't say it works amazingly though. It needs a lot of fixes and it is so unstable. I have hopes the next major Honeycomb update will make the device whole lot stable.

I just played videos on espn.com and I went to royals.com and the video in the upper right hand corner worked as well. I cannot say I have had any flash problems are all. Porn works flawlessly. :-)

You are on the Android Version most likely? Do you have it installed?

Works fine

The video on espn.com works perfectly fine...and I am on dolphin browser using non-mobile browsing

I have four browsers on my xoom because each one has its caveats.
Firefox-slow
Opera-weak interface
Dolphin-unresposive
Stock and all the browsers above just don't display every page right like a desktop does.

This is actually my only real complaint about Honeycomb, that and cache getting to full and slowing it down a tad. First thing, fix browser and flash.
