I have the 16gb Nexus 5x I'm not big on games or watching movies etc on my phone, I mainly use it for social media, browsing tech, sport and new sites a long with listening to spotify and taking pictures that I often delete to keep the best shot and delete the others.

I'm around the 5gb of free space is that enough to keep the phone ticking over and to run smoothly?

The short answer...yes.

The amount of free storage space doesn't really have much to do with the performance of the phone unless there is literally nothing left and the phone can no longer cache things. The main way storage can affect the performance of your phone is the speed at which it can read and write data. Both the 32GB and 16GB have the same speed storage, so unless it is running out of free space you will be fine.

Thanks a lot that explained it perfectly, I'm not one for maxing out my storage that's why I went with the 16gb but I was worried it would have slowed down performance but as long as I keep at least some storage my 5x will run fine as it has been from day one 👍
