Does Pixel 2 Have a Setting to Turn Off Screen When Placed in Pocket or Face Down?

I have the Pixel 2 and tested. I have my screen on setting set to 2 min. If the screen is on and unlocked the screen will not shut off until the full 2 min. If the Screen is on but locked it will dim and turn off within a few seconds. I think this is the intentional function of the phone. I would prefer it shut off automatically as well however.

I wonder if there is any correlation between the auto screen darkening not working and screen protectors? That is, if your screen DOES turn off when placed face down on a table or when placed in your pocket is it because you do not have a screen protector?

I have a screen protector (IQ Liquid Shield) and maybe it messes with the proximity sensor.

So, if your screen shuts off automatically when performing the actions described, is your screen bare? No screen protector?

No screen protector mine does not turn off that way laying flat on a surface face down

I have a screen protector but it does not cover the sensor, won't shut off when laid down or in my pocket
