Does power saving mode actually help?

I used it a few days ago at work and yesterday I didn't use it at all and I noticed no difference in how long the battery lasted me. I got around 12 hours of battery life with the feature turned on and off on different days.

Has anyone seen any battery improvement while using power saver mode?

i use it at nights while sleeping
