Android Central Question

Hi, does anyone know whether Smart Switch move SIM contacts to the new phone? The salesperson used Smart Switch to move things from my rather old Samsung phone to the new one. I did have a lot of duplicates between SIM and phone contacts in my old phone, and now I'm unable to tell if my SIM contacts have been moved, especially because I've now changed to another SIM card for the smaller card slot and I can't check with my old SIM card anymore. So it would be useful to know if Smart Switch had indeed moved all SIM contacts to my new phone. Hope someone can share experience!

I'm pretty sure it does not move them. In fact if memory serves it explicitly says in a warning that SIM contacts will not be moved. You could, or could have, put the old SIM in the new device and transferred them to your Google or Samsung account or done this from your old device before the transfer.

I would recommend taking the extra step of saving all contacts to either your Google or Samsung account moving forward. I think you only have to make this election once for it happen to all contacts added afterwards.
