Does Sony update their unlocked phones monthly?

I'm looking to buy the unlocked Sony Xperia Compact Z5 and would like to know if Sony has a good track in updating their phones monthly. I know they just moved to Marshmallow last month, 4 months after its release, but do they do the monthly patches also?

So far, it doesn't seem like it. I'm new to the android side though, so I don't know what it looks like from the standpoint of other phones.
