Tethering my tablet through my phone - Data Question

Hi,

I have the Sony Z3, and have a Hudl2 Tablet.

For some reason or another, the tablet just will not connect to my work Wifi (my Z3 does), where at home everything connects fine.

So, I'm tethering my tablet through my phone, but, as my phone IS on wifi, does the tethering use my phone's actual data (as if I were outside and on 4G/LTE) or is it effectively free, as it just uses my phone regardless of how it's connected.

Cheers.

Yes, it's using mobile data. Try turning off Mobile Data, it shouldn't work. If you are on a UK network, Three has a 4gb tethering allowance on some of their plans including payg or 30 day, and EE now include tethering in the allowance. Check with your network in case you get a bill.

I can't advise you on the work wifi issue, many on the forums know more. It may be to do with security. Have you checked with them?
