Does tethering with unlimited data still work on 4.3?

Anyone with unlimited able to confirm if tethering still works on 4.3 by just pressing the home button after the nag screen pops up? Holding off on updating until I've confirmed that is still working. Thanks.

I use FoxFi. It does not work. Hit home to clear the Verizon notice but hotspot does not show up to other devices. Bummer.

The app description in the play store says it will work with 4.3 update on everything except AT&T though. Maybe I'll try to mess with it more.

I think there's some nolockscreen hashtag you enter in foxfi settings to get it to work but also need to have your lockscreen enabled or something. I don't use foxfi but from what I'm reading at xda I may have to now - or root if I want 4.3 and tethering :(

Do you have to enable lockscreen and do the nolockscreen hashtag thing I've read about? You have unlimited data also I take it?

Paid version. Lock screen enabled.
The free version bumps you off every 5 min or so I found it did it more often. I liked that it worked effortlessly so I paid to upgrade.

ok cool and it works after the 4.3 update right thinking about getting the new note 10. pad and want to be able to tether lol

It seems to work fine if you install the certificate and use a lock screen. I was only using swipe unlock before with the nolockscreen hash. That no longer works for me after 4.3.

If you go to Playstore and pull up the FoxFi app, it speaks of how you can get around that by doing this:

"*Some Jelly Bean phones has locked-down the WiFi hotspot feature, because of that FoxFi will ask you to install a user certificate on those phones. The side effect is that Android system will require you to set a screen lock (and only allows Pattern, PIN or Password) when any security settings is changed. There is indeed a way to remove the lock screen while keeping the certificate: set a pattern lock and try to unlock the phone with a "bad pattern" for 5-10 times, it will show you an error message, now select "Forgot Pattern?" and enter your gmail/password. After these steps the screen lock will be removed without removing the certificate."

I will try this over the weekend to see if this works. I am a little hesitant about the Gmail pass word entry though.

I take it back. It works. When you do the login with your username and password it prompts you to set up the lockscreen again. Just hit home button to exit and you're back to just swipe unlock. Yay.

This works. Thanks!

FoxFi didn't prompt me to install any certificate. Also, I used to always use Portable Wi-Fi hotspot Free. I guess now we're all just waiting until these apps are updated...

So I have a verizon galaxy s4.
if I update to 4.3 is foxfi going to still work?
All I see is one saying yes another saying no then another yes and so on

Foxfi didn't work for me. Keeps crashing out. Did the certificate. Did pattern lock. Was rooted. Have not upgraded to 4.3 yet. Would like to get this worked out before I upgrade.
