It's working on my 3d, but other times it says i can't do it because it's its not in my plan, why is it working now?

Sent from my Evo 3D!

I talk to Sprint the other day and they told me is $30 a month....Sorta stupid! We already pay enough for data. So I guess it should not be working. But if it is and they dunno about it....I say dont tell em! Unless it charges to your account after you activate it in the app maybe? Not to sure why its working but I know it does cost more.

We pay enough already for data? Switch to another carrier for a month and compare your bills. Sprint is last man standing on unlimited and is still cheaper. Viva Sprint!

So are you seriously saying because Sprint's data package is less expensive than the competitors, that we are NOT paying enough already for data usage ... The last time I checked ... My service says UNLIMITED data which to me means UNLIMITED DATA ... The way I translate the $30 Hotspot charge is the convenience to use more than one device across different wireless platforms and at a reliable connectivity.

I'm saying by comparison it is much cheaper through sprint. So if they want to charge for hotspot, so be it. Beggars can't be chosers

Just trade your EVO 3D in for a Nexus S 4G if you want free hotspot.

I'm assuming you don't know how to root a phone? It will come. You can use apps in the Market for free tethering too. I own a Nexus S too & I wouldn't put all your eggs in a basket. They might "fix" that in the July 11th update.

Your service says you have unlimited data with your DEVICE... not 8 other ones. It's just like buying a car. You want GPS you pay extra, you want the sun roof you pay extra. You want tethering to 8 other devices then you pay the $30 extra dollars. Hate to tell you but tkemack has the right idea even with paying the extra $30 your still cheaper all around than the other carriers.

Your analogy is kinda off but as far as your point about the $30 charge I am quite certain we are on the same page ... I said that " I translate the $30 Hotspot charge is the convenience to use more than one device across different wireless platforms and at a reliable connectivity. " I guess it's the way Sprint is presenting the " hotspot " that has people confused ... It is just like the $10 4G charge that they changed to the $10 premium data charge ... The term HOTSPOT should be defined a little better so people don't confuse a single tethered device with a HOTSPOT terminology ... All in all if Sprint didn't want you to be able to tether a single device with your phone they could easily disable the function or blocked the market from installs ... Just like the other carriers have done ... That $30 charge is for the person trying to run there household with the data from there phone.
