Simple question now that the Galaxy S5 have been introduced are you satisfied with the results?

Features & Specs, it met my expectations. Again, why would Samsung deliver all the goods in one basket.

Design. This surprised me, I really thought the S5 would be changed.

Just curious to know, for those of you that voted disappointed, what where you wanting to see.

For example for me I was expecting to see some sort of improvement on the design. Especially since Samsung admitted that their biggest flaw was that the S4 and S3 looked too much alike.

Which is why it makes no sense why they would release another phone that looked 90% like the previous model.. I mean coming from HTC One yes it would have been nice if it was metallic, but even plastic I was at least expecting more change.

Only thing I am disappointed in is the size increase considering the screen isn't much bigger.
Specs are improved across the board, TouchWiz looks improved, they ditched the glossy plastic for soft touch and they added some cool features.

Very disappointed. I'm fine with the specs as they should NOT foretell the performance of a damn phone. This isn't a Windows 98 PC here. However, clearly the phone STILL LAGS!
The design if disgustingly horrid. Its a taller S3/S4. Third year the phone looks pretty much identical.
Touchwiz also still looks like complete crap

Why must it be so big? I also dislike that silly backing, it looks kitschy IMO. If Samsung pulls a Sony with the S5 Mini (screen shrink but no accompanying spec shrink) then I will be interested.

However, I'm not suprised considering that it is Samsung after all

Didn't know you already had one and have first hand experience of performance...

Honestly i was hoping for a bit better specs but this is to show the note 4 is going to a BEAST of a phone when it drops which is what i might wait for. The only way i could get the s5 is if im bored out my mind. I mean some of the upgrades such as the 16MP camera, kit kat is nice but the specs isnt wow factor as of now im not feeling it

That's my biggest complaint too, I mean what was all this talk about S3 and S4 being too similar that S5 would go back to basics? WTF does that even mean when all you did is pull the same trick out of the hat? I'm like expecting someone to say we were punkd and that this is a joke.

I don't understand why people complain about this.

Yea pretty much sad to say i mean the s5 will sell but i just feel we getting shafted on this one bro

This is the problem: From engadget

Samsung has admitted that the public didn't see much difference between the Galaxy S3 and S4 smartphones and said the S5 would likely pack a substantially different design. Exec Lee Young Hee told Bloomberg that the new flagship will go "back to basics," adding that "mostly, it's about the display and the feel of the cover."

In case we missed it here it is again: " Samsung has admitted that the public didn't see much of a difference between the GS3 and GS4"

So basically all we learned from S3 to S4 was that if we put a perforated back on it, it will be different or a substantially different design? Sounds like a load of crap.

It's not just the perforated design. They ditched the glossy plastic for a soft-touch back like what you see on the Nexus 7 and black Nexus 5. That's a big improvement if you ask me...

What are you guys defending it for? If you really do not see how the announcement was disappointing than get your glasses on.

People complain that the plastic doesn't bother them because it will be in a case. So telling me that the back is now soft-touch plastic to defend the rest of the **** design is a cop out excuse. the front looks the same, the shape is the same, the sides are the same. Its the same damn phone, but stretched out, and now with 2 new crap colors. Sorry Samsung, you cant make gold look good using cost saving materials.

Yes, it met my expectations but then again, I didn't expect to like it.
The squared off corners don't cut it for me. Those rounded corners of the S4 were nice.

My expectation:

  • Improved design
  • Smaller bezels (so smaller size)
  • Complete redesign of TouchWiz
  • Image stabilization
  • Slow motion (120fps)
  • Improved processor
  • Water resistant
  • 3Gb of Ram
  • 3000mAh
  • 32/64GB versions

I think they could easily deliver all of the above and not only few.

Big disappointment, thinking about Sony now, as don't want to wait for Note 4 it could be another disapointment

Didn't live up to the hype ,was expecting a different design . On a side note ,the z2 looks gorgeous !
To each his own !
