Does the hinge loosen up a little after usage?

Ok people. I bought the bride a ZF7 a week ago for a variety of reasons. I asked her this morning whether she was keeping the phone or should I return it. Her only two complaints were about the size of the outer screen (which she uses the majority of the time) compared to her S24U, and the difficulty she's having opening the device to the full inner screen. It is a snug fit, that's for sure. Does this thing loosen up over time? I know it's only been out a few months. Many thanks.

I, also, use the outer screen most of the time, however, I do open the device several times a day. I have had my device since launch (pre-ordered) and can say that the hinge does not really loosen up at all. I have noticed that it does seem easier to open the more I do it, but from the feel, it does not seem to really loosen significantly enough say so.

My best suggestion is to get a case that has spaces in it that allow for better griping. I have the Spigen Slim Armor Pro Mag Fit case which has an area around the power/volume buttons that lets me get a good grip on it to open easily.

I haven't noticed any drop-off in hinge resistance and I wouldn't expect any, as Samsung engineered the hinge to be damn near indestructible.

Just get a case she likes, even the slimmest of cases will add enough grip to open easily.

Perhaps Pitaka or similar that's carbon fiber but do not include a front piece (only because she's having difficulty getting used to the smaller width - the front piece will add to this issue).

Do you use any screen protector on the outer display with that case? I use the Samsung anti-reflective ones and I love them for reproducing the similar look of the S25U and S25U displays. I had a similar case that is Spigen clear with hinge protection but it didn't include any adhesive tape so it moved around just enough to grab the edge of my screen protector making it bubble.

no screen protector. additionally, I got her the clear case with the handle from Samsung when I ordered the phone. I ordered her the mint green color because the others she would hate, lol. I figured the clear case would allow her to see the color of the device, but it's a slippery bugger.

1. I do not use any screen protector for the outer screen
2. This case comes with adhesive strips (and some extras) so the case is on tight and does not budge
3. The hinge cover works great and I have not had any fear of it breaking or coming off at all

I love the Mag-Fit feature of this case as I use several Mag-Fit (MagSafe) accessories with it and it works perfect. No issues with wireless charging (as long as I remember to take the ring adapter off).

Also, the mag-fit ring adapter I have is pretty chunky, and when I have it installed and the phone sitting on my desk, it no longer rocks due to the camera bump, so there's that as well. :p
