Ah, now this is exactly what I'm talking about.

You say you didn't notice any lag before and then say that the animation drawer was stuttery.

This isn't a personal attack by the way, it just goes to show how subjective this kind of thing is.

Everyone has different definitions about what lag/stutter/choppiness/performance issues actually consist of.

Some others would lump the animation stutter in with the general descriptor of 'lag'.

I'm not saying who's right and who's wrong, because it's subjective thing so the answer is no one is right or wrong - that's the point I'm making.

Again, not meaning to criticise or attack anyone here. Just want to make that crystal clear.

I think that's very true. I don't see any excuse for there to be stutter on things like animations so to me I notice it and it is lag and it bothers me. I'm sure others wouldn't have a clue what I'm taking about!

My other half can use an iPad 1 and be perfectly happy with it. For me its so slow its too painful to use!

Mine is fine the odd stutter but I think it's just early software issues nothing major.

Most animations are lag free for me. But I see a major lag when opening quick toggles. I'm guessing most of these stuttering problems can be fixed with a software update.

I have been using the phone for a week and I must say its an awesome phone at the price. The performance is good and there is a minor lag across the UI but its no big deal....
Unless you are using a flagship device you won't be able to see much of a difference.
And I think that it will be fixed with an update.

I know I can get the Google app apk and side load it but I thought I'd wait for the update to come to the Play store. What's interesting to note about that is I still don't have it! It's amazing how long Google take to roll out updates!

Had the distinct feeling Google had forgotten me on the Google app update so I got the apk elsewhere. Yes the performance of the launcher is definitely much improved and it improves the overall experience. It doesn't change anything away from the launcher though of course so fingers crossed Motorola will update the software to fix that. The fact that an update has managed to improve laggy animations is promising
