Does the Note 20 Ultra support 45w charging?

I actually ordered a 45 watt charger with some of the credit. Didn't get one with my note 10+, but I do have the electjet battery. That is supposed to be able to charge at 45 watts so not a waste at all. The electjet's 45 watt charging will not go to waste either. Works well to keep my work laptop going a few hours more when on the go.

I'm disappointed since my Note 10 plus 5G has 45w charging, and yes I'm aware that it never charges at 45w, best I have seen testing it is 33/34w using the Samsung 45w or the Elecjet PowerPie.
You would have thought they would have optimised it a bit at this stage instead of dropping back to 25w

ugh, should have come here first. I bought 2 (!!!) 45 w chargers with my credit. Oh well. I can't imagine it not being safe for use with the Note20, just won't charge at 45w.

When the Note 10's came out last year, they shipped with the 25W charger and said it was able to charge faster with the optional 45W charger. Seems the new
Note 20 Ultra wording is about the same.

Damn I wasted getting the 45w charger on my preorder. Why is Samsung recommending it on the preorder page when the the phone doesn’t support it?

Easiest way to get rid of inventory since it won't be supported anymore.

45 watt charging isn't needed. It was a luxury that Samsung figure out how to do without.

Same boat. I have two from Note 10 credits. I don't think it would be any harm in using them with the Note 20. It would just most likely pull the max power it's capable of.

The problem isn't optimization, but the physical limits of what you can do when it comes to charging a Li-ion battery without killing it prematurely.

I realize that it won't charge at 45w but is it safe to use and if so does it charge at 25w or 15w?

USB chargers have become pretty complex with some level of communication with the device for dedicated charging units.

Regardless, even if the charger provided the full 45 watts, the device will only accept it's max charge rate.

You can charge it with a 45W charger but the max speed you will get it 25W. I don't think its gonna be that big of a deal tbh

Was only a 3-5minute difference from 25w to 45w on my N10+.
