Does the note5 work with uconnect messaging?

I bought a Note5 yesterday. It syncs with my Uconnect, but the message part is still grayed out.
Do I have to pay for this? Does this not work with this phone?

How did you get your not 5 to connect at all. Have a 2015 charger and my notes says cannot communicate with device

Mine works flawlessly with my 2014 Ram 1500.
