Does the Shattershield on the Moto Z Force have a replaceable lens like the first generation version on the Droid Turbo 2?

Yes, though it sounds like the replacement lenses are still being stocked and aren't available yet.

I thought about a screen protector then looked into this. It appears the "lens" is really nothing more than a protector.
Looking at the microphone ports the lens can be seen.

Yes it is replaceable but the Turbo replacement was $30 so I assume it will be the same for the Z. You do not want to replace this at $30 over and over again considering how easily it scratches. Go get a cheap screen protector and slap it on.

I know it was user replaceable on the Turbo2, I would assume it still is. If it were replaceable glass, I'd just use it, but with the reported tendency to scratch, I put a glass protector on top. Probably won't ever have to replace it, and I like the feel of glass much better.

yeah, but tempered glass protectors are just about the same cost. The only difference is the Zagg with its lifetime replacement.

- Same cost at Verizon. I'm sure it won't be long and Amazon will have well-rated ones for around $10.
- Cost isn't the same if you have to replace the stock lens multiple times and you only ever need one glass protector.

Shattershield replacement

With the droid force we could replace the shattershield, I was under the impression you could do the same with the Moto Droid force but I can't seem to find anything online about pricing or how to do this. Anyone know?

I assume the first time you said "droid force" you meant Turbo2? I don't think the replacement lenses are available yet, but they should be sometime.

I found this page on Moto's website, but following the links to try to buy a replacment led to a page for buying a Turbo2 replacement lens. I'd probably try calling Moto.
