I'm going to get a Nexus 4 soon, and can't wait to dump Verizon, but I need solid coverage. In my area it seems that verizon and att are the only to reliable providers.

I would love to jump on tmobile with the new plans, and a tmobile chat rep told me they can roam to att towers, anyone know if this is true?

Thanks!

In some areas yes. But to my knowledge you ONLY get 2G Edge connection for data.

that sucks, the tmobile guy assured me it would roam for voice and data..

I asked this in the T-Mobile online chat and was told they could roam onto AT&T where there were roaming agreements in place, and that would vary based on location.

Sent from my Nexus 4 on Solavei

You can roam in most places but you roam on EDGE. Shouldn't be a problem since T-Mobile has the nation's largest EDGE network anyway. Roaming with voice is no problem. However, they cap data plans pretty low. I have (supposedly anyway) unlimited data and I"m capped for data roaming at 50 mb. So if you travel a lot and get a lot of email or use data for navigation and so forth this could be a problem for you if you end up roaming on AT&T.

When I'm in Northern Michigan, Both of my HTC One S's Switch to ATT. They are much faster on the ATT network than when I am on 4g in Ohio.

I think it depends on where you are and what regional agreements they have in place.

I'm visiting my parents here in North Georgia and I have no service at their house and there is an AT&T tower about 5 miles away per cellreception.com so they are not sharing here. My kids phones have wi fi calling so we're not completely cut off.

Five miles is probably stretching your luck in GA.

My kids phones have wi fi calling so we're not completely cut off.
Thus my insistence that any handset I own, while I'm with TMO, have WiFi calling.

No voice roaming here in Long island NY. When I had t-mobile I couldn't make calls in a area where others who had at&t could get and make calls.
