Does Verizon care if you buy phones at $300/$400 off and pay off device payment plan to frequently?

So it is possible to switch the phones between lines? Also, can I just pay off the device online and cancel online or would I need to call?

You cant switch phones, only the phone numbers. Your still responsible for anything owed on your original line. Yes you can buyout your current device, online in the my Verizon. section. Once you buy it out your free to sell it.

If any of you have gotten the G4 $100 discount in the store, how did you do it? I saw the rep try it on his tablet, and it would throw an error. I'm guessing it was because he was in a company portal or something and not the consumer side. I had printed out the order page on the website and he acknowledged that it was legit, but he couldn't get it to work.

I'm trying to order a 2nd G4 before the deals end. I keep getting an error when I try to choose pick up in store. On the device line, the Service Address is blank, and the Edit button is grayed out. If I choose to buy and have it shipped, the Service Address field says Same as billing address. I was just going to get it shipped like I did the first one, but it throws a credit card error. I tried a couple different cards; I think something else is wrong.

Any advice?

I got around that by doing the pick up in store option when placing the order online. I had a verizon representative on chat with me while placing the order to make sure everything worked as it should - and it did. Make sure to print out the online order confirmation and bring it with you to the store.

The store still tried to play games with me when I went in but since I had the online order confirmation the manager gave in and made it happen.

Just keep in mind not all stores will carry the G4, so online may be your only option. The leather back G4 I wanted wasn't available in any of the 3 stores in my area. Maybe that's why the in store option isn't working for you.

IMHO, online is the best way to order stuff to from Amazon. No BS from corporate store employees and/or managers. Best of all, no lines, ever. Nothing better than ordering stuff quickly and easily while sitting naked in front of your computer.(okay, put on some clothes or a handkerchief if there are others around)

The Verizon corporate store is a nice showroom to play with working demo phones. Ordering should be done by visiting VerizonWireless.com or BestBuy.com. :) For ordering stuff from Amazon, visit Amazon local showrooms around the country, which I believe are those big stores with a yellow signs that say "Best Buy"?

I think the $100 promo was only with Verizon though (and the $300 trade in). So only way to get the phone for the full deal was to go through them..... unfortunately.

Yes, the $100 promo was only available from Verizon's
website or corporate store. So was the $300 trade-in
credit. The $200 Visa rebate card, however, was directly
from LG's rebate website. I'm now just waiting for the
last one, which is the $200 Visa card to arrive, probably
in a month or so.

Little update on my adventure. After another call to Verizon's telesales, they finally just gave me a promo code to allow me to take my trade in to the local store. It's progress, but figures the trade in portal was down. Arg.

Thanks for the update. :) I have been very intrigued with your little saga with Verizon.
Glad to hear that they finally resolved it for you. Now you and I will just have to wait
for LG to send us the $200 Visa cards. :)

That is where I am at too. I cancelled the Verizon account (I opened a new one) so maybe I will get the gift card back at the same time I get the final bill. That would be awesome timing and result in $0.00 out of pocket at any point for me.

Because the portal was down, they couldn't do it yesterday. I did make it back today and got the credit finally. Used it to pay off the remainder on my M8 and Note 3, and the rest on my current bill. The new line I used is suspended, so all I'm paying is the monthly payment plan until the $200 comes in and I can pay it off.

Congrats!

Quick question for you... have you ever see a $40 activation fee on your new line that was on Device Payment Plan?

I don't remember and all I had to pay when ordering the G4 on DPP was twenty something in taxes but nothing was said about an activation fee. Haven't got the new bill yet either.

I also submitted the info for the LG visa card. Did you get any word about the status? Its early but I'd like to know if/when others get the card.

after I submitted it on LG's rebate website, I got an email 3 or 4 days later saying the rebate request was approved. Now it's just waiting to be shipped... which may take 4 to 7 weeks, based on what I read elsewhere. so it's just a matter of waiting. :)

The email I got from LG said 10-12 weeks.

This morning, I consulted with my personal psychic. She touched my head and the LG G4 at the same time, then started writing wild numbers on a board. She said the spirits told her my $200 LG rebate Visa card should arrive no latter than 7 weeks from today. She has always been 100% accurate, so I gladly paid the $200 consultation fee and left.

Oh, wait a minute.... is this why I failed high school math?

The $100 off G4 promo is just online on purpose. Online, retail, and business channels run different promos for a reason.

Keep in mind this isn't an easy process because you are essentially scamming Verizon by adding lines and then disconnecting them. I wouldn't be surprised if they just stopped allowing trade-ins to go to down payments or said you have to keep the line active for a certain amount of time.

There is no scamming going on. However, scamming is going on when I've called three different times to get a credit applied that should be automatic. Multiply that times a lot of consumers equals a lot of money.
