Does Verizon care if you buy phones at $300/$400 off and pay off device payment plan to frequently?

So it is possible to switch the phones between lines? Also, can I just pay off the device online and cancel online or would I need to call?

The same thing happened to me. The LGG4SAVE code didn't work at the store. I ended up going home and ordering online.

Same here. I just ordered online using the promo code but used the "pick up in store" option. I confirmed with Verizon using the chat feature that I can bring my trade in with me to the store and get the $300 credit at that time. So should work out all the same just had to place the order online. I just wanted to avoid the $300 being sent to me and prefer it coming directly off the purchase price of the phone. They also confirmed that the code is supposed to only be used online. So in the end it should all work out the same.

switching between phones and lines don't really make any difference.. .(unless one of your lines is unlimited data)

the Verizon website will show you your remaining balance and you can pay online. just log in and under "Devices" there's a link that will show you the remaining balance for the device payment plan on that line. I can't say if there's an option to cancel the line online. You may have to call them.

I've always done it by calling them. Takes them probably 3 minutes to cancel the line and the remaining device payment plan balance goes on your next Verizon bill. The line is cancelled immediately.(i.e. becomes inactive before I even hand up the phone)

If you do a trade-in in-store, the $300 credit is credited to your account on the same receipt. Be sure to tell the Verizon employee that you want the $300 to be applied towards the sales tax of the new phone, as well as the starting balance of the Device Payment Plan. Let's say the sale tax is $50, it will take $50 from the $300 trade-in credit. That leaves $250 credit. If your Device Payment Plan starting balance is $600, then make sure you ask them that you want the $250 to be applied towards the $600, leaving your starting balance only $350. Leave the store and pay off the $350 in a couple of days.(online or over the phone)

That's the advantage of doing the trade-in in a corporate store. If done online, you don't get the $300 credit until Verizon received the trade-in phone in the mail.(which can take anywhere from 5 to 14 days, sometimes more)

That is the plan. I had went into the store today to do this but they wouldn't do the $100 promo. And I know if you do the order online you have to wait for the gift card for the trade-in device which takes some time. So in order to combine those two promotions I had to place the order online but instead of having it shipped to me I chose to pick up in store. From what I was told I should be able to bring my trade in device with me to the store and have the $300 applied to the price of the phone which was already reduced by $100 thanks to the online promo.

Would be a bit easier if the retail stores would just accept the $100 promo instead of it being an online only thing. Pretty dumb.

Dude, you do realize we are talking about Verizon, right?
Like I always say, the V in Verizon is part of YMMV. :D :D :D

Hope everything works out for you at the Verizon store. :)
I guess I'm pretty lucky because the manager at my local
Verizon corporate store knows me pretty well and she has
always made things right on the first try. Prior to moving
here a few years ago, I lived in a city where the Verizon
corporate store manager was a PITA.(sad but true)

I had called my local store asking if they can honor the LGG4SAVE promo code, and the rep on the phone said they can do it in store with no problem. So I'm wondering if it reduces their commission or something for them to try telling customers they can't.

A different promo code required in store something like lgg4save100 rep couldn't use just lgg4save had to call to get proper code.

Can you use the $200 LG Visa prepaid card to pay Verizon? It does have a Visa logo, so it should be accepted, right? If not its just $200 to spend anywhere Visa is accepted. I don't deal with prepaid cards, so can I get the cash off the card? Or do you have to make purchases. Thanks

you can absolutely use the $200 LG Visa prepaid card to pay Verizon. :)

Sweet! So if I switch my current number to the new phone I just activated, would I cancel the old line or the new line? Once I cancel, I want to be able to get the final bill on my old phone but keep my original phone number for my new phone. Then my old phone will be paid off, I can sell it, and still keep paying on my new device. All this to get the trade in credit lol.

Seriously! They don't want to make anything easy.

So I went back today after having made the order online. After they did all the paperwork I noticed the $100 was missing still. Manager comes over and gives me the same story about how they can't do it. I argued with him for a minute and was also smart enough to print-out my chat from verizonwireless.com with a representative saying that I can. At that point they finally made it happen.

Only thing that is annoying is they did not apply the remainder of my $300 trade-in ($250ish after tax was deducted) from the purchase price of the phone. So I will have to likely call in that payment separately.

Is anyone aware of the additional $200 LG Promotion that is still working. When I go on Life's Good it doesn't work because the phone would have had to been purchased between 10/12-10/29. I know they renewed this promo a couple of times before but I haven't found it yet.

Don't worry, you're still getting you're $300... just in a roundabout way. :)

That's what I keep telling people. Don't take NO for an answer at Verizon corporate stores. Armed with the printout from the Verizon website, most managers will make things right for you. (note: I said "most" not "all") :)

As for the current LG $200 Visa card offer, here you go: :)

Awesome! Thank you! Submitted my request just now.

Can the new droid turbo 2 be ordered in store to take advantage of the $300 trade in instantly, as opposed to ordering online and waiting to be credited? I'd rather get the 64gb. Thanks.

Yes, you can do it in the Verizon corporate store. Just remember that they'll credit $300 to your Verizon account. They will most likely deduct the new phone's sales tax from the $300 credit. (but not deducted from the phone's purchase price, unless you get a manager who plays ball and applies the rest of the $300 towards lowering your Device Payment Plan starting balance)

If any of you have gotten the G4 $100 discount in the store, how did you do it? I saw the rep try it on his tablet, and it would throw an error. I'm guessing it was because he was in a company portal or something and not the consumer side. I had printed out the order page on the website and he acknowledged that it was legit, but he couldn't get it to work.

I'm trying to order a 2nd G4 before the deals end. I keep getting an error when I try to choose pick up in store. On the device line, the Service Address is blank, and the Edit button is grayed out. If I choose to buy and have it shipped, the Service Address field says Same as billing address. I was just going to get it shipped like I did the first one, but it throws a credit card error. I tried a couple different cards; I think something else is wrong.

Any advice?

two words: manager override :) worked for me on the Galaxy Note 5 and the LG G4.

as for your 2nd question. I personally would not do online order with store pick up. It can cause many undesirable variables. The only difference is that your $300 trade-in credit shows up on your account about 11 days later(3 days for Verizon to ship you the trade-in box, 4 days for it to arrive back at Verizon warehouse in Texas, and 3 days for Verizon to credit the $300 to your account... the additional 2 days is the weekend)
