Does your extreme power saving mode really work?

Today, I turned on my extreme power saver mode. I turned it on at 1 p.m at about 11% and at 3 o'clock it was down to 4% . That doesn't really seem like any kind of power saving to me. Is anyone getting better results than that? can you chime in and let me know? I burned up 7 percent in 2 hours, and I wasnt using the phone. Hell, I think I might've used less power had I not done anything!!

Mine seemed to help significantly the couple times I've used it, not up to the 15 or so promised hours though if I actually used it. Maybe in standby

Mine works fine

are you using extreme power saving mode or perhaps just the standard power saving mode? Extreme power saving mode turns your phone in to a basic, flip phone like experience while the standard power saving mode, reduces CPU usage and screen brightness, plus a few other things but you can use the phone as normal, and data can still be used as EPSM it turns off all data)

Sounds like you used the standard power saving mode

Me Too! Im almost glad its not just me lol. I turned on Extreme Power Saving Mode and it burned 7% in 3 hours. Thats pretty fast for an extreme power saving mode on stanby.

One thing I did notice tho, my LTE data was still on. I thought all the while that it would automatically cut data, bluetooth etc. But seeing Email is one of the apps it allows then maybe thats why it doesnt cut it off.

My next try will be to shut down data, lower screen brightness, shut down bluetooth and see how many hours 10% would take me while on EPS and hardly touching the phone. Maybe others can do the same test. lets keep it at 10% so as to keep variables the same.

To further add to this, I just read the LEARN MORE in EPS Settings, and it does say that EPS mode will turn off data when the screen is off. However, when I quickly open the dot view case, and screen turns on, I can clearly see that LTE is still connected. Usually when data is off and if it is supposed to turn on when the screen comes on, it will take 1 or 2 seconds to connect. So I dont know if it really is off and the LTE sign mistakenly shows it as being ON, or they missed this and LTE is actually still on. Can you guys check yours?

It only has an effect on standby time really. If you're still texting and calling and emailing it'll drain the battery still.

My 10% on EPS lasted 4 1/2 hours. LTE was on the whole time (i dont know if it turned it off on its own but whenever I turn screen on it showed as connected)

Are you guys sure you're in extreme power saving mode?
Does your screen look like the first picture on the following page? If not, you're not in extreme power saving mode.

I have a T-Mobile M8, I've only had one experience with EPSM. I left my charger home and my phone had fallen to about 23% so I activated it at about 8:30pm and at about 7am it was on 21%. So mine works perfect
