Not sure if I am missing a setting but my Moto Voice has trouble hearing me and it definately won't open from the lock screen/screen off. Is it supposed to? I think my Moto X (orig) did.

Yes my turbo definitely opens in the lock screen whether I'm speaking softly or loudly.

No problems with my opening from the lock screen since you made me check.

Mine will do it but if there us ANY background noise (driving with no radio on) it won't respond. It works in a quiet room but not in everyday life. Is that normal?

Mine opens from the lockscreen (though only performs some tasks without a need to unlock the phone), and it works in quiet or noisy rooms. I have even found that it opens when I haven't said a word. It is obviously 'recongnizing' my voice from surrounding talk/TV noise. I'm going to change my passphrase to something longer/more complicated and see if it's a bug or not.

What limits does it have if you have a password/pin to open the lock screen? I haven't enabled a password or pin yet. Is it possible to unlock the phone simply by using your voice?

Try programming a different phrase? It may be boring, but I have found that "okay Google now" works very well in almost every situation

I've been on the standard vanilla "OK google now". Do y'all turn off the google voice option or anything ( under google settings)? Or do you leave them both on?

With Google Now, you need to manually enter your pin or pasphrase. However, if you use and set-up Moto Voice, then you can audibly say your pin or passphrase to unlock the phone when prompted. However, I have found it to be kind of spotty, not recognizing my pin a couple of times.
