Double Contacts

Whenever I go to type in a name to send a text message, that person's name & number generally will show up twice. But in my contacts, they only show up once.
Anyone know a way to fix this?

Go into Gmail on your computer, go to contacts, and select "Find and merge duplicates" from the 'More' dropdown.
