Down panel doesnt work on i897 captivate

Hi all! I have I897 captivate 2.2 build number is froyo.ucjj4.
I have it only for 3 days and down panel stopped work ( Panel where Menu, Home, Back and Search) this panel is touch too like all surface of the phone but it's doesnt work...
For example - i cannot get back from applications (only restart the phone)
It happened itself (i know sounds kiddy but is truth) I did NOTHING it's just stopped to react on touch
If someone can help me in my issue, please HEEELP!

Try a factory reset... If that doesn't work try flashing to stock rom... If that doesn't work its a hardware failure, either the ribbon /capacitive buttons or connection.

Sounds like he's already on a stock ROM. Batt pull might help, but sounds like hardware to me.
