Download Complete Notification

[AC Question]

Whenever my phone leaves a wifi network, I get a notification from Google Play Music that says "Can't download music. No internet connection." This notification usually changes to "Download complete" within a second or two, I assume once it switches back to cell service.

The issue, is that I do not have any music being downloaded. Podcasts have been downloaded but usually only once or twice a week and this notification happens every time I leave a wifi network. If I turn off notifications for Google Play Music, I can not access my podcast controls from the drop down menu, which I use a lot.

Is there any way to get these "Download complete" and "Can't download music" notifications to stop?

Welcome to the forums. IIRC there is a setting to use only wifi for downloads, check in Music and see if you can turn that off, can't remember exactly where that setting is.

Both the "Stream on Wifi only" and "Download on Wifi only" options have both been OFF. I have even cleared the cache within the app and it still has this issue. I can clear the notification, turn on wifi, turn it back off, and the notification pops up immediately upon leaving the wifi.

This is mostly annoying as every time I leave my work or home wifi I am receiving these notifications I always need to clear, regardless of if there is even a new download or not.

Okay, you're obviously on top of it. I also have an S8+ and have not seen that on mine nor here in the forum. Hopefully someone will jump in with a better idea or solution. Dumb question probably, but what happens if you turn wifi off and on manually?

I've got the same issue on mine. Drive me to turn off all notifications for Play music. Not an optimal solution.

Have you folks reported to Google thru the Play store? They do listen, also on Facebook.

Dumb question probably, but what happens if you turn wifi off and on manually?

The notification will immediately pop up when wifi is turned off or I go out of range.

I logged in just to say I have the same problem. And the problem seems to have started very recently.

P.S. I'm on my Galaxy S7, so this should not be specific to S8 models only.

I am awaiting an advanced specialist from Google to email me back and I will update any solution they provide.

I had this problem. I think I turned off "auto download music for me" and it went away. It was the first annoying thing that happened when I got my phone.
