Download over mobile data

[Android Central Question]

Using mobile data I cannot download attachments from Gmail. I can transfer them to Google drive and then download them. Like I cannot download programs from the app store. The download seems to initiate but nothing happens. If you let it run for a long time eventually it will fail. I have no idea why certain types of downloads do not work. Especially apps are annoying as in a new city you might need a new so to be able to park your car. I use a one plus 2 with Android 6.0.1 oxygenOS 3.6.1

I'd bring the phone into the carrier's store and let them see it happening - they might have an idea.

A misconfigured firewall could result in that type of behavior.

See what happens if you go to Settings>Apps​, tap Menu>Show System, select Download Manager, and clear its cache/data.
