Downloaded apps, why can't I open them?

Hi, I'm using my SD card to store downloaded files, but when I try to open the folder using the "downloads" app installed on my phone it only points to the download folder on the internal storage of the phone and i can't find any way to make it point to the folder in the SD card..
Does anyone knows how to do it?

Assuming the apps you're downloading are apk files (the only kind of file that will install), use a file manager to go to your card's Download folder, and tp the app you want to install. (You can't run the downloaded app, you have to install it first.)
