Hey everyone,

So I downloaded the new update for Google maps from the market, and the new "Places" app (I guess you could call it) did not show up. It worked for my girlfriends Droid and my friends Droid X but not on my DInc. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks!

Mine did the same and they are right because I rebooted and like magic places were there.

Where does Places show up. I downloaded Google Maps update but dont see a icon or anything that indicates that I now have Places.

Again reboot phone....(turn on and off)....it will be in app tray it looks like a red upside down tear drop.
I am pretty happy with it

A reboot is required...

Same if you upgraded and didnt see the navigation icon....

It has always required a reboot.... Just wish it would tell ya that!

UPDATE: This reboot will place both the NAVIGATOR and PLACES in your app list... Not in Google Maps...

Lego!

I can't seem to find "Places" in Google Maps, even after a reboot. I can, however, get it to show up when I launch Google Goggles and put it in landscape mode. Shouldn't I be able to see it in Google Maps as well though?

Reboot the phone and it will be in your app tray labeled "Places"

I have a question, when I hit the latitude tab in Google maps, at the top it says WiFi disconnected, click to activate.. this is new.. certainly I do not need WiFi enabled to use the latitude layer, right??

Thanks to everyone! Reboot worked.

6s1d9: I got that message too but Latitude works fine without it enabled.
