Downloaded update to Google Maps and now Navigation/GPS doesn't work!

Just last night I saw an update for Google Maps so I downloaded it. The previous version worked flawlessly. Now when I use it the GPS can't even locate my location and the navigation part of it is basically useless. So frustrating as I used the navigation on my phone quite frequently and relied on it very much. An update of an app should be improving it not completing rendering it useless...

Did anyone experience any problems while updating the latest update for Googlemaps/Navigation? Is there a way to download the previous version back to my phone?

I downloaded Waze today as a replacement since Navigation wasn't working for me but to me the built in Navigation app worked better for me.

If someone can tell me how I can download the previous version (if there is a way) that would be so much appreciated!

Which carrier do you have?
I have Sprint and after the latest update I didn't experience any problems.

Anyway, sometimes uninstalling the app updates and reinstalling it might work.
You could also do a factory reset.
Sorry I can't help more but this is the first time I hear of this problem after an update.

I'm on Telus here in Canada. I will try uninstalling the app and re-installing it to see if it works. Thanks for the suggestion!

Very strange. I didn't even need to uninstall/re-install it. I just checked one more time and re-opened the app and all of a sudden the app seems to be working. Sorry for the panic attack but it seems to have randomly fixed itself.

I had a similar issue after my phone updated yesterday. It would not find my location and just keep spinning. Clearing Data in the app manager resolved the issue immediately.
