Downloads don't show up in folder- Samsung Galaxy S3! HELP

Hi
I have a brand new Samsung Galaxy S3 that I bought approximately a month ago.
Everything was working alright until few days ago, whenever I try to download something such as images and music, it does not get added to the Gallery/Music Player, however it appears in the notification bar that the downloading is finished. I tried clearing cashes but it didn't work. I even tried downloading music from a music app but the music didn't get added to the Music Player (I used the same app before and everything was great).
I guess you got my point.
Please help!!!!

Have you tried using a file manager to look for the files that you've been downloading?
Are they being saved in the internal memory or on an SD card?

I don't often respond so consider the source. Anytime I download a file of any kind, the files go to a Downloaded folder. Using a file manager, such as the SIII manager, I move the file to the desired folder.
