driving mode after 4.4

Anyone else having issues with driving mode using hangouts as text app after 4.4? Mine goes into driving mode but won't read text or do anything at all.

Working fine for me. Just make sure the texts you are getting are SMS. It does NOT work for 'hangout' texts---only SMS----does that make sense?

It does. I do have them going to SMS. Not hangouts. Still won't work. Going to try the other 'stock' message app. Maybe that will work.

Go to "All" and scroll down to the M's
You should find 4 or 5 things that have to do with Assist.
Clear their data and set up Assist again.

Works for me. It appears touchless controls has been optimized because it works much quicker.

I like that it doesn't give me first and last name anymore when someone texts me. I still think that they need an advanced mode for moto assist that allows one word interaction to speed up the whole process. I'd love if In that mode the command Google was sufficient to call on commands.

Something that allows me to choose assist to auto read messages as they come in and give me a time lapse to give a command like reply right after and give my message. It gets a bit tedious when trying to have a conversation.

I've never been able to get this to work on my wife's phone. It shows that it's in driving mode but the phone won't read texts or say who is calling. I cleared the data and set up Assist multiple times. One question I have is that you mention 4 or 5 Assist things in Apps, but her phone only has 2, Assist and Assist Framework, and Framework doesn't allow to clear anything. Could it be missing some of the software associated with Assist?
