No one knows for sure what we're getting exactly, but rest assured the SECOND it drops, a feature list will be here. Quit complaining, though, you guys. You aren't entitled to anything. Your phone works fine. Root if you're so unhappy. Really.
Lighten up a bit. Sheesh.
People are just concerned about their devices. They spent a LOT of money on them and would like to have continued support in ways they see fit.
Thats not how it works and people should know this by now. Everyone is going to get what Verizon and Motorola sees fit for them to get and thats what we must accept if you don't like it they can build their own Cellular Provider and Cellphone Manufacturer and do what they like.
I have a stupid kinda question: how is the update distributed? Do I have to download it from somewhere and apply through a USB connection, kinda like the way blackberry handles their updates? Or is there a notification that pops up on the phone that lets me do an OTA update? Or do they push it to the phone automatically when it's idle? This is my first Android and my first update, so I'm kind of curious how it happens.
They will push it to you. Your phone picks up little bits and pieces as time progresses until it has all of the bits to make up the entire update. Then the update will prompt you to install, it will do this all on its own, nothing you have to do. Your battery also has to be above 80% (correction?) or plugged in.
Usually someone always puts the file out on the net for you to manually do it by plugging your Droid into the computer. But I just let my phone do it on its own.
So, nope, nothing you HAVE to do. Just make sure its charged!
Or people can hope that the company they give big bucks to actually might give them what they want.
I dunno about you, but I am not so cynical
For the update, it will tell you if the battery is too low but I believe it was at 40% without being plugged in and lower if it was but not sure of the lower percent. Not to contradict you, GM but your post looked like it was asking for (correction?)
But it will always tell you if your battery charge is too low and to install later when the battery is charged.
Run sholes updater it will flash you back to stock
There is an update that will unroot you. What ROM are you running?

Is that why my 3G signal has been showing the "busy" icon almost all day? I leave my phone alone and the 3G signal is being used. No new apps, nothing. Hopefully that's why![]()
go here downloads.sholes.info/smupdater-6.apk and download the apk and move it to your sdcard, then open it using a file explorer on your droid and install it, then launch the program and it will ask what rom and choose the 2.0.1 no root, it will download and install
