DROID 2.1 Update thread.

You have to go one step further touch the gmail account sync and it should be in the next screen.

Tried that and it wasn't there. Just contacts, gmail, and calendar.

For those who haven't read my initial post, I am unable to figure out how to view my picasa web albums in the new gallery. I have looked in settings/accounts & Sync/my google account and see no setting for syncing picasa.

Downloaded per the instructions that i got from the RSS feed this morning. Only thing though is for me when i plug in to my USB port, i have to go into settings>applications>development>USB debugging for me to access the SD card. Im using Win7 64bit version, haven't checked lately if MOTO or Google updated the drivers though.

So far though, no problems at all, works just fine.

adding "contact" to your home page now brings up the cool (text, call, etc) when you click on it like when you click on a contact in the contact app

Ok, I did the update, but only have the three original home screens. Is there a way to activate the new ones?

Who got the update without downloading it?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone actually got the update prompt on their phone? I imagine some did, but it seems as though most people did it manually. Do we know if we are up to the 200,000 updates/day, or did the first 10,000 just get it. Just curious, thanks friends.

That's all there is, to get more you need a home replacement like Helix or somehting. If you're talking about live wallpapers, i think you get them from the android market as well.

I was gonna wait it out, then.... I just couldn't stand it any longer after reading about it all day and just manually installed. :( No self control....

Works great tho! :)

TBH I don't think anyone in these forums waited for the OTA, I was gonna wait out as well, couldn't take it anymore though

Yeah I said screw that. I waited for the 2.0.1 update since it was kind of trivial, but this version has too much cool new stuff.

Gallery was slow but I guess after the initial load there is no lag. So far I am loving 2.1. Voice text is alright with some errors but I can only assume future update will minimize errors. I feel like I have a new phone. For those who want more than three screens use helix launcher 1. I initially waited for the update to possibly give me more screens but after learning it would not I got helix. Works great even with the live wallpaper. I have 7 screens without any lag.

I just updated my Droid and absolutely love it! First impressions are that the phone appears to be a lot faster. I love the new gallery and live wallpaper (before I didn't even care about that but now love it). It like having a new phone.

Thanks to androidcentral.com for making it so easy!

Does anyone know if the alarm clock was supposed to update to the new clock? The new clock I refer to is the one earlier available as a "2.1 app that runs on 2.0", similar to the earlier version of news and weather or music.

has anyone noticed a change in the notifcation LED with 2.1? mine seems to be in a different location now.

What do you mean by different location? Like the physical location of the LED? I don't think that would change with a software update
