Droid 2 Global Overheating issues

Hey everyone,

My girlfriend has a Droid 2 Global and ever since day one it has been getting very hot and rebooting. It get's hot specifically near the top portion on the back near the camera lens. I knew this was an issue with the D2G but figured a replacement from Verizon would fix the issue.

We got the replacement and it was still happening. I thought, maybe it was the battery, tried a new battery and no dice, still happening. We are on our 3rd replacement now and the issue is still happening. I have grown very frustrated with this issue, after many wipes, resets, and replacements. What would be the next step here? Can I request a different model all-together from Verizon?

Hopefully someone has this info and answers because I'm wondering the same thing. Given the dismal state of these Droid 2 forums I'm not getting my hopes up.

Yeah its Crazy I went from a Droid X to this beater those forums are highly active hell even the Optimus V forums are more active than these. This must be the Droid for the dumbed down consumers or something

This phone is really frustrating a lot of people.

1. Random Reboot - Very Frequent lately
2. Overheating all the time - must turn off the phone for about 10 mins, and reboot to solve the issue temporarily
3. Not charging when the overheating happened
4. Battery life can only stand about a max 1hr when overheating is happening

Hate it Basically... I know a lot of people like to have the keyboard, I do hope BIonic won't have a keyboard since it's too bulky. Does anyone know if BIonic has a physical keyboard? If so, then I may wait for Nexus Prime - hope Nexus Prime will be part of Verizon

Bionic will most definitely not have a keyboard.

I am thinking of marching into the Verizon store and demanding a Droid 3 for my girlfriend. Last night her D2G was plugged in to charge at 30%, she woke up at 5am and it was burning hot and charged at 20%. WTF?

I am having other issues but I am on my 4th phone. The last one got stuck in a bootloader and would not come out of it. I am tired of them sending me broken phones.

Anyone have any luck getting a different phone out of them?

i have this same problem.....im on my 3rd D2G. the people are verizon are very stupid!!!! the last D2G i had got so hot i had to put in in the fridge to cool it down....then it stopped working. I am so through with this fone. i told the rep at verizon to note my account that the next time i come to the store i want a different fone. i dont want this D2G anymore!!!!! im so over it!

oh and i am having other issues with this fone such as my speaker not working at random moments and the fone restarting while im in the middle of a call! a some others that take to long to explain!

@smurfette8202 What phone are you looking to switch to? They are sending me my third D2G because of signal and internet issues. If they give you a free upgrade let us know, there are a bunch of us that need to get a working phone. Thanks

Same here I have overheating issues dropped calls reboots screen unresponsive and sometimes I can't answer calls this is number 4 for me. I'm fed up they offered me a discount on another phone and that's all.
