I finally made the plunge and bought a droid 2 today, (coming from a Samsung FLIGHT ) and I have a question regarding my first 'task'.

The Verizon rep prompted me to set up a new Gmail account, or enter an existing one, as soon as he turned on the phone. Luckily I was in a hurry and told him I would take care of it from home--I have an old Gmail account but wanted to read up on the Marketplace some more first.

I DO want to set up a new primary Gmail account for use as a primary accnt tied to this new phone. I DO want to set up one or more secondary email accnts for personal use, keepoing the primary one segregated, just for buying apps, ect.

From reading...seems like there are some issues out there w/ changing the primary or secondary email accounts after the fact...? Particular to GMAIL and DROID.

My question after reading through a few troubleshooting threads:

DO I want to activate this primary 'from scratch' account FROM THE DROID or FROM MY HOME PC?

My first inclination was to create a new Gmail from my PC, with a password I never intend to change, and then sign into the Droid with that info. Is this the right order? I've read of problems either way lol.

(Note--I do not intend to set up any 'work' related accounts that might require Exchange or any detailed permissions. I use Gmail, Hotmail, Comcast, etc for personal stuff.)

Thanks all!
