I read that the DROID 2 running 2.2 is advertised that it now fully syncs with MS Exchange Email, Calendar, and Contacts. Has anyone successfully set this up? If so, would you please comment on how fast you are getting emails and how long it takes to sync - say if you deleted an email on the phone, how fast does it delete from your Outlook accout?
Also, any luck on syncing your Tasks and Notes in Outlook/Ms Exchange?
As an IT Manager I am researching this information to recommend or not to recommend our staff to purchase this phone.
Thanks for any input/information/extra steps/bugs that you found a workaround!!

the best way is to find out first hand give it a test run. thats just to see if it works with your system or if it would be too much of a headache. would be much faster than posting on a forum and waiting for responses.

I don't use Tasks or Notes, so I haven't tried syncing them. It works great for Calendar and email though. If I'm sitting at my desk I get my email notification on my phone and laptop almost simultaneously. Occasionally the phone may beep a couple of seconds after the laptop notification pops up. It really is quite fast.

Contacts are a bit funny. I had no problem syncing with my Outlook contacts, but if you set up a Facebook account you get all kinds of crappyness (a new contact for every Facebook friend, and your existing email contact pics are replaced by your contacts' facebook profile pictures, which change regularly. And unlike the version of Facebook that's on the Droid 1, there's no way to disable the stinking Facebook contact sync.

Did the recent update fix the need to enter a PIN (when not required by the Exchange server) when unlocking the phone connected to Exchange?

I tried that a few times. Even got a new phone. Everything syncs fine now after update, but still have to enter stupid password every 5 mins!?!?!?!?!?

Here is a link that gives directions on how to fix this problem, however; it needs to be done on the server running your MS Exchange - so if you are not the IT person for your company, forward this to him/her.

That doesn't actually work, at least on our Exchange 2007 installation. I sat down with our Exchange guru and went through the steps with him and I still have the same PIN requirement, even after completely deleting and re-creating my sync profile. Lets face it, Corporate Sync is just plain busted.
