I had my Droid Razr M 4.1.1 rooted about a week ago. 4.1.2 rolled out, so I unrooted, factory reset, and upgraded (all after backing up, of course.)
After successfully updating to 4.1.2, I rerooted, restored backups, etc. All was well until two days ago. After rebooting my phone, as I do at least once per day, I noticed my Phone and People (contacts) widgets were gone. I couldn't find them anywhere. I went into my backup app, Titanium Backup, and restored the (app only) for Contacts. This brought back both my phone and people widgets, although I had to drag them from app drawer back to their place.
Same thing happened yesterday. When I rebooted, phone and contacts was gone, but I restored, dragged back, etc. However, my actual contacts were gone this time, too. I still have conversations from random numbers in my messages, but I can't tell who is who without analyzing the conversation. There are a few contacts left. I correctly set my contacts to sync from both verizon, backup assistant, and google accounts, to no avail.
Today, I picked my phone back up to attempt to give it another try. I reboot, and when I did that, I booted to the message "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped working." Now, I have no service OR contacts. WiFi does connect, however.
Does anyone have ANY advice for me? I booted into recovery to wipe the cache and dalvik cache, but this solved nothing. Any similar issues? I know that 4.1.2 for Droid is causing a heap of issues...I have this cross-posted in the Android 4.1 / 4.2 Jelly Bean forum.
