Droid and 3G Speeds

Is there a reason my 3G speed would be significantly lower on my Original Droid versus my friend's Droid X. I get 450-500 up and 150-200 down. He gets 1000 down and 512 up. We did the speed test in the same location.

no idea i know my 3g speeds are horrible. could be due to a faster processor, better antenna design. who knows

I have a droid overclocked to 1ghz with petes baseband update. I have 3/4 bars inside a mall, I recieved 750 down and 500 up using speedtests app. I looked at my history and my highest was 970 down / 684 up
What baseband do you have and are you overclocked?

the newest have the same signal but mine is much slower the most up ive gotten was 479 down and 249 up. pethetically slow

The baseband is C_01.3E.03P and I am not overclocked. I am also the speedtest.net app.

I just put on 2.2 and see some improvement with the speedtest app. Nothing huge.

Anyone else see any improvement with 2.2?

I just ran it and got 1854 down and 655 up I dropped my clock speed down to stock 550mhz before the test too so I don't think your clock speed has anything to do with 3g.

Funny the highest I've gotten with speed test is 526 down 304 up vzw network around me must suck
