I would just like to point out that the DROID3 and PHOTON 4G's FCC Fillings don't mention GSM either.

I don't think the FCC tests radios that aren't active or going to be used in the US.

Hmmm then that means this is entirely possible. I could understand why, they probably wouldn't care about the GSM radios that are only used outside the US. It would probably be better for them to test it since they already are testing the other radios, but they can do whatever they want. If this ends up being true, it could be pretty cool, especially for those who travel a lot.

Each country has their own regulators, I believe, but I don't think there's any centralized one (for the EU anyway).

They should still have to disclose somewhere in the filings anything in there that is a radio, even if for spectrum interference purposes.

Personally think it would be foolish if they didn't do everything they could to stick a GSM radio in this phone. Really any advanced enough smartphone should be a world phone without question. Who wants to pay $300, and wait god knows how long, for a phone that becomes a paperweight when you leave the country?

I mean, I still will, because I've only taken one trip out of the country in my 26 years on this planet... however when I did I was happy that my bb tour worked great all over europe
