The more I look at the phone I will buy tomorrow the more I can't help but see a droid x2 with 4g and a restyled outside and a front camera.
Am I off base?

Better Processor, More Ram, More internal storage. Early reviews say the screen is better. The addition of 4G is the main selling point. So yeah, id say a little off base. The X2 is an X with different internals. The Bionic is a whole new current phone. Your getting the newest Motorola R+D with the Bionic. A good design thats over a year old with the X2.
Yeah you are off base, I was thinking its more of a droid 3 minus the keyboard plus bigger screen, more ram, and 4g lte...other than those differences, the two devices are damn near identical...not impressed w/ the bionic at all...
And lets not forget.... No dreaded HARD buttons.. couldn't stand that on the dx!

Humans are basically a chimp plus better cognitive ability, speech recognition, and less hair... other than those differences, the two species are damn near identical...not impressed w/ the humans at all...
I think it's a totally new device, designed from the ground up, as opposed to the DX2 being a DX with some enhancements. But if you don't see it that way, get something else. There are plenty of great phones to choose from.
I like the droid x/x2 form factor expect for the hard buttons. I personally like the atrix looks wise a bit more but i am happy with the Bionic's form factor. We'll see once i have it in my hands.
LOL what a fool, this phone is sick and i'm startin to notice all the haters fall in to a few groups, those that dont have lte in their area and jumped on the D3, samsung fanboys, or people who hear ab new or rumored devices and freak out and convince themselves they have to wait(which is a vicious cycle that repeats itself over and over)... which one are you mtva? meanwhile those that get the bionic are going to be more than happy with it...
I'm getting sick of the comments over at Droid Life especially. Everyone follows what Kellex says and dismisses the Bionic so easily. They should at least use it before trashing it.

This is what Verizon should send everyone that has exchanged 4 of the same phone.
Is it beacsue it is not dual core 1.5 ghz and 720p that it's crap. As much as the samsung s2 impresses me with it's scores super amoled is nice and it's 1.2 ghz. In real world use I question how much better it is as a whole package. The reason I say that is it looks like moto really put work into the device like the 4g radio and the apps they ofer for it. I see the bionic being faster at downloading and reception and the s2 better at gaming and running apps on the phone due two lower rez screen and more processor speed. The vigor and samsung prime Will probably have comperable performacne even with all that extra muscle due to the higher res screen needing the ext muscle. I say the bionic is a winner becase motot makes a quality product where samsung makes in my experiecne good products but with less reception than motot and htc has really grown as a competitior but I still think they need to work on a few things.
