How many folks have a DC but do not live in a 4G area? I'm wondering about your experiences and whether you think the decision to get it was good considering the onslaught of promising 3G devices like the X2. I'm soon to be surrounded by 4G but have no idea when my market (Southeastern CT) will actually have service.

Thanks!

I purchased the DC on 5/16 and installed the ED2 update and I live in a 3G area. Granted there are spots in SW Washington that does have 4G but not where I live. I found out that running TouchWiz drains the battery, with turning LTE off I almost last till 8 pm with slight usage (took the phone off at 7 am).

I installed launcher pro, and my battery life has been great.

I also wanted the X2, but my wife and I wanted to have our new phones with front facing camera so the X2 was out.

No 4G here until next year. Since installing Launcher Pro instead of TW on my DC I get great battery life (~8 hrs). I agree with diverbelow - the lack of a front facing camera made the X2 less appealing.

The free app Phone Info by SC@Taiwan can disable 4G, but I have not tried it yet.
