Well, When I was asked to review the Surface case I wasn't too excited. I'm not a big fan of two piece hard cases but I always like to keep an open mind and in this case I'm glad I did, so lets get right to it.
First, like most Seidio cases this molded Poly carbonate case has a fine quality feel about it, its matte black rubber soft touch finish is the best I have seen. The two pieces fit together solidly with positive snaps without a lot of movement between each other once in place. There are cut outs for everything including the HDMI port. Once on this case is very form fitting and slim and slick adding only minimum bulk to the handset.

The bottom case half is lined with felt to help prevent damage to your phones high gloss battery door that by the way is easily scratched without such protection so this is a big plus not found in most two piece cases. This case also is available with a snap on belt clip that I did not get the opportunity to test at this time and can be a BIG plus for people who like to wear there phones. The phone snaps screen first into the holster to protect it from damage. I'm glad now to have reviewed this case and to find out not all two piece cases are created equal, this one is much better than most. I also would like to mention the soft touch finish on this case attracts no pocket lint and always looks clean unlike cases with rubber or silicone parts. If you have any questions please ask them here. This case is available here in the Android Central Forum store or on line direct from Seidio.

How right does it fit into the holster? Just got my otter box defender and a slight bump and the phone falls out of the holster. Thanks for the review!

A friend of mine has the belt clip and I tried it out, its very secure it has a big hinged spring clip at the top that holds the phone tightly to the clips back stop while in the surface case. It wont fall out of this one its very well thought out.

How do you feel the phone would fair if you were to drop it?

Funny you should ask this question. Last night I dropped the phone at the Harrah's cashier window unloading chips out of my pocket when I knocked the phone off the counter onto a hardwood floor with NO DAMAGE. It was almost a 4 foot drop and the case didn't even pop a seam, usually two piece cases explode on impact this one did not. I'm not surprised because like I said once snapped together its a very solid feeling system.

Are you sure you're putting the phone in the Otterbox holster with the correct orientation? There is a plastic piece near the USB port that helps lock the phone into the holster. If you put the phone in "upside down" (i.e. the plastic piece on the wrong side) it will not lock in place.

The Seidio surface and belt clip are very nice. You need to watch you don't get a coat or loose shirt caught when you clip in, but it clips in well. What is missing is the ACTIVE level case re-inforcement and double-release of the Active belt clip. Seidio chose to not make that available for the Charge. Also not available for the charge from Seidio are the well-regarded Seidio extended battery plus cover. And of course neither the Seidio surface nor un-available Active are offered for non-Seidio extended batteries for the Droid Charge.

Seidio makes some great cases. But they cherry-pick the phones they offer them for.
