Droid Extended Battery

More Info

I've been using one for a while now. It takes about 2 hours to charge and it lasts about 14 hours or so with moderate use. With heavy use it lasts about 10 to 12 hours. For reference I went through two OEM batteries daily with my normal use.

The form factor is really ugly. I use a belt clip that has the battery cover outward so it doesn't interfere there. This is the 2600mah battery.

Can you tell us exactly what you are using please.

ugh, Seidio tweeted me saying it is still being developed, but then removed it from their site. They have been very good at making slim extended batteries in the past, I dont know what is making the Droid the exception. I may just get the full extended, being as it is 2800mAh now instead of 2600...

Sorry to revive an old thread but I thought I should answer. I haven't been on here in a while...

I'm using a belt clip I bought at the Verizon store locally. It has a springloaded clip and it's just called a swivel holster. I'd post a link but the new flash enabled verizon site doesn't allow that.

I recently bought the newer 2800mAH battery and its good for about 50 or so hours of operation with moderate use. It takes quite a while to recharge if I go for two days without a charge. It takes at least 8 hours to fully recharge and the only way to make sure it's fully charged is to check for the mV reading to get close to 4200mV by going into spare parts. The other drawback is that the phone shows 5% charge within about four or five hours of use. I use Battery Left as a gauge and it was dead on accurate with the old extended battery. With the new extended battery it will show 100% charged when the battery is really only around 80% (the phone also shows 100% early as well). As long as I get to full charge the widget stays accurate until dead unless I turn the phone off. If I reboot the phone the widget gets all crazy and so does the phone. Even if the phone has been on for 40 hours, upon restart the widget says 100% again with this newer battery. The phone reading isn't any better either.

If you can live with the lack of accuracy, you can get over two days out of this newer battery. I'm not even using anything special to prolong my battery life.

This sounds nice, but I don't think I can deal with the larger form factor. The phone is large enough getting it in and out of my pocket, plus I already have a Seidio case for it, and with an extended battery I'd have to get a new case to fit.

I generally get about 24 hours of battery life with moderate use. However if I plan on running an app like eBuddy all day, I will be lucky to get 12-16 hours out of it.

This kind of makes me miss my Blackberry Curve 8330, or even the Storm 9550, both got much better battery life then my Droid.

I hope Seidio is trying hard to create some kind of slim extended battery for the Droid, they would get back ordered almost instantly, as there are a lot of Droid owners interested in getting more battery life.

I have read a couple of reviews about this saying the Seidio battery get extremely hot. Has anyone had this problem?
