I am known for my easy going nature.... with that said I present the following story.
I got a shipping confirmation email about 7:15pm, when I got home at 10pm I called Fedex and got a bit of a run around right out of the box, but I need to point out that my address was wrong on the Fedex form to begin with so I had to get that fixed. The Fedex agent had no desire to change my address at all, so I offered to get Verizon on the line. You can imagine that it took a while to get a CS on the line and I also need to add that I'm not a current VZ customer, so my account will not pull up by my phone number since that number has not been ported away from my current cell provider and to VZ, sooooo I have get things pulled up by my Social Security number. Did I mention that NOTHING seems to be easy about ordering this phone or receiving it? LOL
After jumping through many hoops I had both agents on the line and the Fedex rocket scientist just could not grasp that the damn address was DEAD WRONG. The VZ rep got angry with the Fedex rep and asked him and I quote "Immediately escalate this call and get me someone on the line that is above you." OUCH is what I thought about that. LOL
The VZ rep and myself sat on the line for quite a while waiting for a supervisor. The first Fedex guy came on the line and passed us off to the super. I said nothing and let the VZ rep talk with the Fedex super and after going round and round for a while and being pummeled by the Fedex super the VZ rep went off to get an official phone number so she would know he was indeed a VZ employee. Dang guys this a stinking phone, not launch codes for a nuclear missile. LOL
The VZ rep was gone a long time, during this time the Fedex super laughed and said it was obvious the guy worked for VZ since we were listening to Verizon ads the entire time. I didn't grind my teeth and instead had her laughing and cutting up with me. I figured any minute she would just do what I wanted which was to hold the package at the hub and the issue would be resolved. Uh, sometimes things don't work out that easy and when it comes to this damn phone NOTHING is easy! He came back on the line with a bit of a red ass and told her she could hang up and he would take care of the issue. Whew can you see how the nerves were becoming frayed? She calmed him down and told him he could hang up and now that she was positive that he was a VZ employee and she would fix the whole issue and for him to not worry. He asked me if I was sure and told him yes. I made a mistake right there, but she was in a great mood and was after all a Super, so I felt like I was in good hands. Boy was I wrong.
The VX rep hung up and she asked for all of my info again which didn't faze me in the slightest, but after that she wanted to know what I wanted to accomplish. Uhhhh why would she be asking me that so late in the process when we had been talking about it the entire time? I told her that my address was wrong and had to be changed, but it wasn't that big of a deal since I wanted the package held at the hub so I could pick it up at my convenience. She then informed me that she couldn't do that and the package HAD to be attempted once before they could hold it at the hub, so that means waiting another day. Grrr
I wasn't amused and reminded her that the VZ rep clearly stated that he wanted her have the package held at the hub so I could pick it up Thursday. She was having none of that and then we spent 15 minutes (I'm not exaggerating) talking about changing my address and this stupid bi### had the gall to say, "Well I can't change your address without authorization from Verizon." Ok at that point my blood pressure shot through the roof and told her, "The damn Verizon rep clearly told you that my address was wrong and asked you to change it, have you forgotten all of that?" I'll stop and say it one more time, I'm a nice, easy going guy, but I was not a happy camper at this point! She said, "Well give me your number and I will get your address corrected. Then I'll call you to let you know tomorrow." I indulged her, but why the hell do I need to change the address when
1. I will not be home to receive the package
2. I will just call and have it held at the hub so I can pick it up Friday at the hub.
3. Has Fedex been taken over by a band of talking Chimpanzees?
4. Can that lady be that damn stupid?
5. Does it really sound like she can manage getting my address changed anyway?
I don't do drugs, but I swear I'd consider it after that mess. LOL
