Droid MAXX: Cases

Re: Cases

This case looks interesting also: Amazon.com: Incipio MT-298 DualPRO for the Motorola DROID Maxx - Black/Black - Carrying Case - Retail Packaging - Black/Black: Cell Phones & Accessories

Silicone core, so no hard plastic to mar the phone's finish. The only problem is no belt clip to cover the screen (and no kickstand...). Question- with the screen exposed and if put in a pocket, would touchless controls of the MAXX be activated? I don't want to have a problem of constantly changing settings on my phone or dialing numbers while it's in my pocket. Or, does that not work the way I think it works (does it have to be voice initiated every time?)

It has to be voice activated all of the time. The active display swipe feature is also supposed to be disabled when the phone's proximity sensor determines that it's in your pocket.

I've used that case. It's not bad, but if think it made the phone too heavy. It's already heavy enough. It's better than the otterbox commuter for that, but not much.

I have the otterbox commuter and like it. No hard plastic touches the phone. Supposedly has a life time warranty but have never had to test it out on any of the otterbox cases I have used. Also the commuter is less bulky than the defender and has very good protection when combined with a screen protector.

There's all the cases I use.
Favorites are incipio feather and otterbox defender.

The screen protector on the trident cyclops is nicer than the defenders. Very hard to take off case though.

The qmadix is really snug to install / remove.

After 4 months of constantly installing and removing the defender I finally broke one of the secure tabs. Still works great and isn't visible.

Ideally I'd have a seidio convert case in a heartbeat.

Also, the otterbox has been redesigned. The belt clip is not fragile anymore. On my gnex I went through 5 cases in a year.

Thanks for all of those photos. My only question about the Cyclops case is that it looks like it blocks the right and left edges of the screen, encroaching too far, so that if you want to drag something from one home screen to another (let's say) the case will block it. Is that true, or am I just seeing things?

It doesn't block it but it does hinder it a little.
