Droid Maxx - particular abt its charger?

I just replaced old Droid w/ Maxx. Salesman told me to buy new wall & car chargers bcz old ones will ruin new phone, burn it up or something. Is this for real or just a lame attempt at accessory up-sell?

The old ones may not give you 8 hours of charge in 5 minutes (which is a good way to make the battery manufacturers rich), but there's no such thing as too slow a charge. (Well .. I guess a 1mA charger wouldn't do much - you'd be waiting a month to charge the battery, but even an old 0.5A charger will work, if slowly.)

Verizon - if you have an IQ, we can't hire you.
