droid maxx price on vz website $499 wtf

I have tried like crazy to get a credit and they have ALL held the company line like their lives depended on it. They all said that the system wouldn't even allow it and that anyone reporting a credit outside of the 14 day period is flat-out lying. This is after 4 seperate attempts featuring at least 3 management escalations each both at local stores (where I purchased on 9/23) and at the 800 (where I purchased a replacement on 9/27).

Maybe I've been flagged as a problem customer or something.

I went in and checked and the price in the store is still $299. They looked at me funny when I said it was $199 on the website. They said the price wasn't changing any time soon.

I guess I'd have to order it online to get that price. Do you have to pay for shipping and handling too?

I quite literally jumped out of bed when I read this. I used the VZWDEAL promo code. It didn't lower the price but appeared to give me a free activation (waived the upgrade fee). But then my contract is up in November so that may not apply to everyone.

I bought it outright. for 500$ it was worth it, IMO.

Rep said he didn't get any calls about this. He said he just had to punch in some codes and that was it.

Was that customer service or the store you purchased from?

Customer Service. Thanks to original poster. I probably would not have known in time, if not for this thread.

This is music to my ears.

I paid 299, plus tax and an upgrade fee. I then was credited 90 for verizon30, then 100 for trading in an old electrify. Total cost 365-100-90=175

The great part is, I can upgrade through comcast, pay 199, get a 100 visa from comcast, AND do a moto trade up by mail, get 100 from moto. Total will be about $50!

Let me ask you this...

Are all of you who are getting 30 day windows business customers? The latest one (whish I could let this go) said that only business customers get a 30 day window. Personal accounts get the shaft.

Sorry. I don't. I just said "I'm calling for a credit on the Droid Maxx under the 30 day price guarantee. It was reduced by $100 yesterday" and that was it. He didn't ask any questions.

I just spent the last hour I'm going to spend on this.

Literally impossible. The woman even came to this site and looked at this thread. Insisted that only business customers get 30 days. I havent worked this hard for $100 in my life.

Im feeling pretty good...not only did I get my 100.00 price drop credit..when I bought the phone two days ago they gave me a 100.00 for my old phone (bionic). i had two so I turned in the oldest one I was only using for navigation..

im all for saving money, and if i can, thats cool with me. i am outside of the window, but i really could care less. i did the trade up program to get net 90 off the original price. when it was all said and done, the phone cost me $250 with taxes. i would have gladly paid the 299 price tag for this phone. this is great for anyone considering this phone. if the discount programs (comcast, trade up) are still in effect, you could probably get this phone for around $100, quite an excellent deal.

Went into store where I bought and told asst manger price dropped to $499 and I paid $650. He just said OK and put a $150 credit on my bill. He didn't check that price lowered.

I purchased my MAXX online (with in-store pickup) for $299 during the "unlimited data weekend". Called *611 this morning and explained that I noticed the online price drop by $100. This is day 20 after my upgrade. The rep asked to put me on hold to see if there was something that he could do. He came back and said he couldn't credit my credit card but could credit my account since I was still within 30 days. I am in Illinois if that matters.

I just ordered the droid maxx full retail for $499.99 but they charged me sales tax on $607.08 which is $37.13 in mass sales tax. I called customer service and they told me I have to call Internet Sales on monday. It doesn't seem right charging me tax on 607.08.
