Hey guys as many of you know, this phone has passed through the FCC. It has a confirmed 2530 mAH battery. Not quite the 3300 of the Maxx; but that is still higher than all of the other high end phones out today. I pulled that battery info from the FCC document for some reason AC nor any of the other blogs caught onto that it takes some digging to find it but it is in there.

https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&=0810&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=524804&fcc_id=

The battery info is found in Exhibit 11 RF Exposure Info 1.

My question is why did they downgrade the battery? I know the S4 helps the battery last longer but why not include the 3300 mAh battery from the Razr Maxx?

Could it of had something to do with NFC maybe? 2530 mAH should be enough to get a user through a full day of moderate use with no problems IMO.

This makes me a little sad but I dont want to get too down on it until I see how it performs and how long it lasts.

I read somewhere that it will actually be a removable battery, so maybe this is so they can charge you for an extended one?

The battery will still perform great with the s4 and that size of a battery

In the FCC document it says the battery is non removable.

wtf?????

I have been waiting months, with an available upgrade, for this phone for many reasons, the MOST imnportant, the Razr MAXX 3300mAH battery. Yes, the S4 and screen resolution and everything else this phone SEEMS to be coming equipped with are very nice, but that battery!!! I may now have to reconsider what is more important, battery life, or screen resolution. I am a heavy user, in and out of airports, so I will have to see.Maybe the Razr MAXX will work after all, and cost less...

so the battery would be 2530 mAh, thats around 23.3% less than the 3300 mAh of the Maxx's.

if we factor in the s4 which is more efficient than whats in the Maxx's, then i think we would get more or less the same battery drain experience of the Maxx's ... but then again, there is the HD display which has more pixels, this would definitely drain more battery juice, and if it has like 2GB ram, the refresh of the ram would take its share of the battery juice.

well, lets just hope the s4 processor is very very efficient compared to the Maxx's processor

lame! so what advantage does this phone have over the other choices from Sammy or HTC?

I have been holding out for this. this battery news is quite a disappointment.

I was holding out for this phone, but ended up getting the Galaxy S3 because my Droid X was starting to drive me nuts and i didn't want to lose my unlimited data (i kept it by preordering before the plans changed). Anyway, the Galaxy "only" has a 2100 mAh battery but I can unequivocally say that the battery life is WAY better than it was on the Droid X. I routinely get 2.5-3 hours of screen-on time (don't know if I ever saw more than 1.5 hours with the droid X). I'm also able to stream radio over Bluetooth for an hour or so and not need to plug in on the way home from work. Problem is, the phone is so great and beautiful and fast, I use it way more than I did the droid X so I plug in at night with low battery warnings about half the time....
Anyway, based on the Galaxy, I think it is fair to say that the S4 processor helps a ton. Samsung must have also done something to decrease the power usage of the screen, so I don't know how that would compare with the Fighter. If you are a Moto fan (which I am too, I was just "forced"to get the Galaxy by Verizon's plan changes and my X driving me nuts), the Fighter will probably still be a great phone to have. I think the 2530 battery will be more than reasonable for most (though probably not all) people.

I?ll be the optimist,:D the battery, reportedly in the HD, is approx. 29% larger than the standard Razr (too lazy to do an exact result, but in my head it is approx.. 29% larger).

And from reading Razr forums, most, even after ICS, state the battery on the Razr (1780) is sufficient for standard use by most individuals.

And RAM does not drain hardly any battery power unless it is being used. Most will never use 2gb of RAM on a smart phone; power users or game players will. And 2gb of RAM with a dual core (especially one like the S4) will draw less juice than a quad core with 1gb or RAM (if both are running at full capacity). (Google it!)

So, I would have no problem running with this battery in a phone. But I am no way a heavy user.

(I also read about the battery size a few days ago on http://www.droid-life.com/2012/07/2...d-razr-hd-will-have-a-2530mah-battery-inside/)

It's 2530 mAh so that one month later, they can release the DROID RAZR MAXX HD with a 4000 mAh battery. Duh. :)

SO frustrating... they have the ability for so much technology to be packed into one device that would trump them all, but they hold back. This phone COULD blow everything else out of the water with a bigger battery, better radio in the EU, Jellybean, etc... but they do it in stages for greed.

Battery lasts me the whole day with the RAZR after ICS. I also have the Sony ion, and that has a 1900 mAh battery that has to power an HD screen. It does a nice job, and it's only running on a S3. I think Motorola will be fine releasing their next phone with a 2530 mAh battery and a S4. I know everyone wants to see that 3300 number, but this should be very close, performance wise.

battery is big enough for me i just want to see the official specs. Ive been constantly checking on this everyday hoping on a release date. Almost bought a white razr for 99$ the same day the hd razr popped up at fcc. That changed my mind quickly.

It may have something to w wanting to keep the battery temp down. Just a guess..

I kept thinking I wanted the hd Maxx when it came out but Im so happy w my Maxx now I just don't want to get rid of it yet lol!!!
