It seems Android Central hasn't put 2 and 2 together yet so let me help out since I have some inside Motorola knowledge. The Droid Turbo headed for Verizon will have a twin brother that will be available for other carriers under the name Moto Maxx. If you remember a few weeks back news broke about Motorola trademarking the name. Today the Moto Maxx just passed thru the FCC following the Droid Turbo's lead.

Thanks for the info! Any idea when the Droid Turbo will be announced and / or released? Many of us are very excited for it.

To my knowledge within the next 30 days. Just awaiting some final approvals. A lot of paperwork goes into launching a device.

So I guess the only way to distinguish between the devices will be the look?

Will it have Moto Display, Moto Voice etc.? I'm assuming it will but you never know.

Most likely. Leaked pictures show the front facing IR sensors, so I would anticipate the baked in Moto goodness of the X.

Which one are you talking about? Since both the Droid Turbo and rumored Moto Maxx are strictly Motorola phones, I'd bet they'll have all those features the Moto X has. The only of those two that might not would be the Turbo if Verizon decides that some of those features compete with their own offerings.

The Nexus would most likely not, being a pure Google device. Unless they include the hardware and give you the option to add apps to unlock the functionality. Which is a real possibility considering all of those features have been taken out of the core OS and set up as separate apps in the Playstore. It's possible but I think unlikely.

The Moto apps are why I'm leaning towards the Turbo and maybe the X. The Nexus will almost certainly be straight Android but if Motorola adds the functionality to run their apps suite, I'm definitely getting one.

Yuck.
Saw some numbers that imply it will be almost 5.7" long.
That, for me, is a deal breaker.
