Excuse my ignorance, I know the Droid line is a verizon exclusive, but is it possible to have/use a Droid Turbo on a different carrier? :-[ With the Nexus 6 looking like a no go for me now(too big) , Im stretching for anything for a next phone at this point.

Moto X or Nexus X are likely to be your options outside of Verizon. Turbo will be a verizon exclusive

Another(ignorant) question. If you were to buy the Turbo off-contract and unlocked, couldn't it be used on another carrier or no?

Not that I know of. CDMA networks (like Verizon and Sprint) require permission for a particular phone to run on them, and the carriers are not ones to allow other devices on their respective networks. That said, given that the LTE sim on Verizon phones is commonly unlocked, it's conceivable that the Turbo could be used on another country's LTE network, as long as the LTE bands were compatible (but don't quote me on that).
