DROID TURBO: Rumored Specs

Boy, it would be hard to believe that they'd jump an entire inch in screen size. That would likely sell some people right out of getting the phone. I sure hope those numbers don't work out to be correct.

If you do the math (and assume the length and width values are accurate) the actual diagonal equates to 161.14mm, not the 154.49mm as shown.

???

Good catch on checking with Pythagoras.

Comparing the edge dimensions then:
Droid Maxx is 137.5 x 71.2
Droid Turbo 143.5 x 73.3

I drew it out on a piece of paper. To fit a 6.1" screen in that there has to be almost zero bezel including top and bottom. Barely room for a speaker or front camera. Not sure how they could do it. Something is off somewhere.

Can you provide a link to the article saying that that is the phone? Looks kind of like the new X leak, at least the rear view.

Re: DROID TURBO Pics

Curious if the reports of 4.6" and 5.2" devices means there will be a "mini" version available.

One of the reports said Verizon will only get one Droid phone this year, so I don't think multiple versions will happen.

Re: DROID TURBO Pics

I have seen two different specs listed so I will wait and see which is true QuadHD or 1080 which is it and 800 or 805 Qualcomm 4.6 or 5.2??????

Looks like the posts commenting on the leaked pictures were removed and placed into their own Droid Turbo Pic thread.

Geez, why are people still going back and forth about screen size. It's not going to be 4.6" and it sure as hell isn't going to be 6". The FCC docs show it as being slightly bigger than the 2014 Moto X, and the images leaked yesterday show it side-by-side with the Maxx, and it's hardly any bigger, so it'd be impossible to get a full inch screen bump.

Re: DROID TURBO Pics

Do any of the screen specs that are out indicate how bright it would be? I want to be able to see it in the daylight. Thanks,

Re: DROID TURBO Pics

I think it's interesting that for all of the spec leaks we've gotten on the Droid Turbo, none have discussed battery capacity. I know the model suggested a follow-up to the Maxx 2013 battery, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is also going to be a 3500 mAh battery, does it? Assuming a slightly larger and brighter screen, I'd love to see the battery get a bump up to 3800-4000 mAh.

larger and QHD. More pixels to push. So I'm hoping for a little bump as well.

Re: DROID TURBO Pics

Won't be much longer and you'll be able to jump your car with your phone!

Kidding aside, I'm keeping an eye on this phone as an option over the new X. Assuming it has the same features as the X (Moto Display, etc...), I may get it.

According to DroidLife the rumored Quark/Turbo specs are:

√ Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.65ghz
√ Adreno 420 GPU
√ 3gb RAM
√ 3500 mAh battery
√ Wireless Charging
√ Turbo Charging (like the new Moto X)
√ QHD screen 2560x1440
√ Screen size is unknown but the physical dimensions are slightly larger than the Moto X which puts it at around 5.2"
√ Android 4.4.4

Give me these specifications and I'll pay full retail and dump my S5. My sister and niece are waiting on this so that will be 3 sales for Motorola. I'm a heavy user with 5 hours of display time per day as I use it instead of my PC most of the time for web surfing. The S5 makes it but just barely where as the Droid Maxx would have made it and than some.

I also miss Smart Actions even though it was simplified later on. The feature I used should still exist and it was for Silent mode but allow VIP to bypass it. Active Notifications are way better than the standard LED blink and I could care less about SD Cards. I just hope Motorola doesn't mess up with my router again which is what forced me away from the Maxx, lol.

Re: DROID TURBO Pics

Looking at the leaked image of the screen, it seems to have the same front sensors as the X, so I would assume it also has all the same capabilities with voice, motion, active display, etc. The MAXX included all the same features as the X last year, so this would be consistent.

Motorola Droid Turbo has specs detailed via benchmark

Motorola's next high-end Droid-branded handset for Verizon will apparently be called Droid Turbo. A few days ago we saw the first picture of its back, and today a comprehensive list of its specs has leaked.

This happened because someone put the Droid Turbo through the paces of the GFXBench benchmark, which helpfully has a publicly available list of specs for each device that runs it.

Hence, the Droid Turbo shall come with a 5.2-inch touchscreen with QHD (2,560X1,440) resolution, 3GB of RAM, a 20 MP rear camera, and a 2 MP front snapper.

The smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with a 2.65 GHz quad-core CPU and an Adreno 420 GPU. Internal storage is probably going to be 32GB, and the handset should also sport Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, a gyroscope, and a compass. It will run Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

That's all we know for now, but it's plenty to realize that this will be one top of the line device. It's still unclear when it will launch, but given all the recent leaks that has to happen sooner rather than later.
